scemtec has created a high performance and low cost product for reading and writing RFID Transponders using the SIR-2610 that is a new member of the 13,56MHz Reader family. The Reader supports ISO 15693 / ISO 1800-3.
With its radically increased performance, the new SIR-2610 can be compared with its approved predecessor because of its completely re-designed transmission and reception technology. For this purpose, special attention has been made to increase its range for the reading and writing of passive 13.56 MHz Transponders. Next to the increase in performance, new transponders have been implemented in the SIR-2610 such as the “I-Code UID” and the EPC transponder. Combined with these new transponders, the Reader also supports transponders according to ISO 15693 as well as the older Tag-It and Icode1 transponder. Consequently, this "Multi-Tag Reader” covers all passive transponders in the range of 13.56 MHz that are in demand in the common market. The device comes with an Update function for the Firmware of the internal digital signal processor and can therefore also be enhanced for further types of transponders and functions according to the customer’s requirements.
As with its predecessor, the new SIR-2610 has also been designed for applications in an industrial environment. The Reader is delivered in a stable IP 65 enclosure and in addition to the internal antenna it also possesses an external antenna connection. All standard 13.56 MHz antennas ( 50 Ohm ) from scemtec can be connected to this. The device can also take over control tasks next to the individual identification for passive 13.56 MHz data storage mediums of different manufacturers. For this purpose there are two input and two output potential-free digital ports that can be randomly selected. An Ethernet or RS485/RS422 interface and a display are optionally available for the Reader upon request.
Naturally, this system fulfils all necessary guidelines for the CE authorisation.
