Test project with system solution has been successfully completed.
Within
the framework of a joint project with the renowned system integrator
"etiscan", the company scemtec Transponder Technology carried out once
more a demanding RFID project in the area of integral store logistics.
Thereby a RFID antenna solution for fork-lift trucks has been produced
which is suitable for industrial applications. This solution is capable
of communicating reliably with 13.56 MHz transponders even if directly
surrounded by metal (see inserted picture of a robustly positioned
antenna unit within the fork's area). The fully-automatic
identification of the storage position takes place at the moment of
loading or unloading without the driver of the fork-lift truck having
to bring an influence to bear. During the pilot study the load
identification itself had been taken via bar code scanner but could
easily be carried out by modern transponder labelling instead. In the
meantime 10 fork-lift trucks have already been equipped with this
highly effective system solution. Additionally they are directly
connected with the company's SAP system via a radio device.
"The possibilities which RFID opens up have by far not yet been
exhausted, especially when it comes to logistics and there in
particular to integral system solutions", so the head of development at
scemtec. "Based on detailed problem analyses we can certainly develop
integral RFID supported solutions in cooperation with those responsible
for logistics. These solutions could be used for various demands within
the warehouse itself as well as adjoining logistics areas."
